# MCP

Serves ZShot to an agent as an MCP server, over one of two transports:

| Transport | Run |
| --- | --- |
| HTTP | [`--server`](/reference/server) with [`--server-enable-mcp`](/reference/flags/server/server-enable-mcp), which serves the endpoint at `/mcp` |
| stdio | [`--mcp-local-server`](/reference/flags/agents/mcp-local-server), which the agent launches as a subprocess and talks to over stdin and stdout |

## Example

Add a server running on `localhost:3000` to Claude Code:

```sh
claude mcp add --transport http zshot http://localhost:3000/mcp
```

Add a local server to Claude Code:

```sh
claude mcp add --transport stdio zshot -- zshot --mcp-local-server
```
