Writes a [performance trace](/reference/formats/trace) alongside the render, gzip-compressed unless the path ends `.trace.json`. On the server, the trace is returned as a `Link` response header.

## Scope

The trace covers the page's renderer process, worker threads included. Cross-origin iframes run in their own process and are excluded.
