# Endpoints

A bare server exposes the render, status, and asset endpoints; metrics, MCP, and the OpenAPI schema are opt-in.

| Method | URL | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `GET` | `/` | Renders from query parameters. See [Additional Assets](/reference/server/additional-assets) for the `Link` header. |
| `POST` | `/` | Renders from a JSON body. |
| `DELETE` | `/` | Purges the [render cache](/reference/server/caching#purging) entry for the same arguments, or the whole cache when bare. Answers `404` when the cache is off. |
| `GET` | `/status` | Returns `200` with the current number of in-flight requests. Use it for readiness and health checks. |
| `GET` | `/assets` | Serves the [additional assets](/reference/server/additional-assets) a render response links. |
| `GET` | `/metrics` | Prometheus [metrics](/reference/server/metrics), when [`--server-enable-prometheus`](/reference/flags/server/server-enable-prometheus) is set (Enterprise). |
| `GET` | `/openapi.json` | The OpenAPI document, when [`--server-enable-schema`](/reference/flags/server/server-enable-schema) is set. |
| `GET`, `POST`, `DELETE` | `/mcp` | The Model Context Protocol streamable HTTP endpoint, when [`--server-enable-mcp`](/reference/flags/server/server-enable-mcp) is set. |
